The state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT) revised its tourism forecast upward to a 6.5 percent increase in both visitor arrivals (to 7.4 million) and visitor days (to 67.5 million) for 2005, according to its latest Quarterly Statistical and Economic Report (for the 4th Quarter 2005). Visitor expenditures are also projected to increase by the end of the year, reaching an estimated $11.6 billion, up 6.9 percent over 2004 levels.

CMI


October production for HVCB’s CMI Division was 94 qualified leads (up 8% from same period last year) representing 176,000 lead room nights (up 30% from same period last year). Thirty-one leads converted to bookings representing 14,800 definite room nights.

MVB’s PR Team will be headed to Portland, Seattle and Vancouver February 6 - 10 to
generate excitement for Maui, particularly it's newest campaign -- "Malama Maui -
Preserving Maui's Agricultural and Cultural Resources." The campaign focuses on three primary areas including agri-tourism, our native host culture and the ecology of Maui.
